Once again its me with my newly tested WM5 HTCP3400 Mobile.
Without making much noise, going to write the pros and cons of this mobile.
I wanted to buy a Business Mobile as my need was an email client rather than of multimedia. After looking up a couple of models I have chosen this one HTC
P3400. Let me tell you why with comparing
My Priorities were
Email
Windows Operating System
Touch Screen
An MP3 Player
Camera(Was not that essential. I have 8 MP sony cybershot.)
I had a look over following models:
HTC Touch - 18000/- +(WM6, Finger Swipe, Inbuilt GPS, WiFi, A2DP Bluetoth, 2MP Camera) -(Only TriBand, OverPriced)
HTC P3400 - 14000/-+(WM5, 2MP Camera, Quad Band, A2DP Bluetooth, Value For Money) -(Lacks WiFi, No 3G, No GPS)
HTC P3300 - 18000/-+(WM5, 2MP Camera, Quad Band, A2DP Bluetooth, I Built GPS) -(Over Priced for Wm5)
iMate JAQ - 8000/-+(Very Cheap) -(Bulky, No camera, Big in size)
LG Viewty - 20000/-+(Stylish, Bigger 3.5" screen) - Over Priced and I dont like LG
Motoming - 12000/-+(Business Card Reader, 1.3 MP Camera, ) -(Outdated)
MotoRockr -13500/-+(Features are good) - I dont like Linux but if u lov u can go for it. its good)
Al these mobile were best suited to my budget. which was 20K.
Now reason I have chosen HTC P3400 is that its value for money and almost able to fullfill your needs.
QUAD Band - will work any where in the Globe, HTC touch miss GSM - 850. your phone will not work in USA.
WM5 - has good sync with my XP professional. How ever WM5 is now outdated but you can download themes and make it sexy as good as WM6.
2.8" Screen - better browsing experience, but for best experience I recommend to download Opera for Mobile
A2DP Blutoth - Play wireless Stereo sound. works good with my wireless stereo headset.
Fantastic Good Sound - You will never miss Nokia N Series.
2MP camera - Now I need not carry out my camera every where. How ever camera functions are extreme hot. you will love camera effects.
Fantastic Handwriting recognizer.
Fantastic autofil and auto address pciker whole entering te recipients name is SMS or Mail
Fantastic Photo call
Unlimited Call History and Adress Book
Voice/ Call Recorder - Go to Notes and click on Menu and View Recording Tool bar. YOu can use this as call recorder also during call.
What is not here
WiFI - In India you cant be dependent upn WIFI. if you are taking Pocket PC. you must have GPRS Connection Enabled.
Lacks Style - With standard accessories, you will get nice leather case which will hide the uglinss .:)
Lacks GPS but I live in a place mostly which will not come in the map for next 10 years. Lolzz. but if you are from metropolitan I recommend HTC p3300 or touch(if you are not moving to USA)
You can create a gropp in phone books, but unfortunately you can not send messages or email to group. you have to fill them one by one from the phone book or autofill.
very less phone memory. 24 MB
Screen looks black in sunlight. but this is accepted for business Phone. as you have to sit in the office.
Battery Sucks, 1 day, but acceptable as I am connected 24 hours with GPRS and Blutoth
What good I have done till the time with his phone.
Downloaded fring and now I am online 24 hours with this software. It encapsulates the Yahoo, GTalk, MSN, Skype, SIP and fring in a single manger
Downloaded Opera.
Downloaded Several wallpapers and changing m ugly WM5 skins with fantastic new themes
Configured my Outlook and online 24 hours with my Hotmail, G Mail and Zapak Mail.
Not all missing my my necessary appointments as Calendar syncs good with my XP scheduler.
You need not to edit your favorite segment in song. as Song cutter is built in phone. set your favorite piece of music as ring tone from you favorite song
What problems I have faced with this Phone. If any one of you have solution, please tell me through comments or mail.
Message Arrives in inbox but as I download full message it get delete from my phone permanently.
Unable to change SMS alert sound.
So guys at the end. THis phone is value for money. Dont hestitate to buy this phone.

But only if you really need a business phone. other wise stick with N Series or Sony Cybershot Series.
P.S - Guys I have been fooled by he shopkeeper for the Screen Guard. HTC provides the screen Guard with phone. but shopkeeper made me fool and burnt my 400 bucks for new Touch Screen Guard.
Warning: Dont use your phone without screen guard.

Good thing is that prices have been slashed down
Bad Thing: I have noticed one strange problem that whenever I try to type "T"(Capital T) in address book it produce a special character like this "I." instead of T.
This problem is in Contact Book and MS WORD Only Not any while typing message.
2. Message Counter is not available in this phone
3 Image Stablization Lacks in camera
4 Strange problem. a delivery report is stucked in my inbox and I can not delete it and cant mark it as read.:)

Guys one strange activity. My deleted Items shows 498 items but I cant see them. and also Outbox shows 999999 items. lolz. but phone is working.
Network strength is not good as Nokia ior HTC TOuch. this I realized after replacing the sim card on my N95. Signal Problem is in my home only not outside.
Still deal is not bad. its 9000/- Only with free memory card.

This phone was shelved 7 years ago. Last week I found it while tidying up. I plugged in, charged it for 2 hours and it still boots a but I don’t remember password. I tried plenty of ways to recover it but no help.
Anyways happy 11th anniversary to still alive HTC P3400.:)
