This is a hilarious comedy, although be warned that it’s OTT (over the top), so don’t sit there analyzing, but just park your brain outside, and laugh riotously at the fun and frolic.
Circuit from Munnabhai MBBS (don’t know his name) and Paresh Rawal are both hilarious in the movie. Kareena Kapoor and Akshay Khanna are good as the lovers. It takes very little time to get used to the excessive overacting by almost everyone else, and to settle into the sidesplitting contemporary use of Hindi, which the script writers have managed quite well, the slapstick comedy which is so so, and some masala fight scenes.
I went in to spend an easy lazy afternoon and it was well-spent indeed. The sight of Shakti Kapoor did scare me in the beginning, but fortunately, he has a very limited role, and they manage to keep him on leash and toned down, so he manages not to insert in his disgusting style of comedy and ruin the movie.
If you liked Andaz Apna Apna, Hera Pheri or Ye Tera Ghar Ye Mera Ghar, you’ll enjoy this one too. If you want to spend a fun 3 hours without a care, this is a very good watch!
