Hey there, ladies and gentlemen. The token suspense thriller of this year is here from the director duo of Abbas-Mustan.These guys manage to come out with movies which sustain your interest.Even though you know who is doing what to whom, and why, you still manage to sit throughout the movie, unlike so many movies of today.
So, here is Karan and Priya who are partners in a dance troupe and who want to make it big in the world and they are really working hard at it.There comes a chance to showcase their act on millionaire Raj Singhanias ship which is going to Malaysia. They manage to bag the contract and then starts the game of cat and mouse between the three of them. The thing is Raj falls madly in love with Priya, and to the horror of Karan, she reciprocates and the next thing you know is that they both get married.
Herein, lies the twist in the tale.Everyone is not as loving as they seem to be.Scratch the surface and something more devious comes up.After the interval, things really speed up.And before you know it, it is time for the denouement. The pace is fairly gripping.
The acting by everyone is good enough. The directors have both done a good job and the script is very nicely written.Of course, if you are dim enough, then you will not realise what game is being played.Bobby Deol as the millionaire is getting good movie by movie. He seems to be improving all the time.Amisha Patel gives a good performance too.But it is Akshaye Khanna, who gives the movie its dark tone. His is a bravura performance and he proves that you need not have a wicked looking face to prove that you are a good villian. After this flick, word will be out that he makes a good negative character. This is his second good show after Dil Chahta Hai.
The movie is shot in a lavish style and the editing is also quite crisp.Music is good , especially the Bardaasht number. Here is a team that knows its job too well and I hope that they continue to churn out good thrillers like this regularly.See this flick then, if you have nothing much to do and want to have a good time at the movies.your money will not be wasted. At least mine wasnt!!!
