’’Hungama’’ was meant to be fun unlimited, but sadly the fun is missing!This is another comedy film which will GET ON YOUR NERVES instead of making you laugh!Here we have actors trying to be funny, but irritate!We have dialogues which try to make us laugh, but look cheap!We have a film which is more confusing than a MATHEMATICS sum!This film is named Hungama but don`t know why???
THE FILM:
’’Hungama’’, directed by Priyadarshan, is an irritating comedy film which stars Akshaye Khanna, Aftab Shivdasani, Rimi Sen, Paresh Rawal, Shoma Anand and Shakti Kapoor!This is another film, bu Bollywood which is TORTUROUS, to say the least!This film tries to make you laugh but you will feel like breaking the screen, on which you are watching the film!
THE CHARACTERS AND PERFORMANCES:
1.Nandu(Aftab Shivdasani):Nandu, is a boy who lives alone and wants to become a singer!He needs a place to live in and he is told that there is a place for rent, where only a married couple can live!!!He finds out a girl, lonely in the city, called Anjali who will pretend to be his wife!!!Slowly, slowly, he falls in love with her!Aftab Shivdasani impressed us in the cute story of ’’Darna Mana Hai’’, and this time also he wasn`t so bad but wasn`t given enough scope to perform!Also, the story and the movie itself are so bad that he could do nothing to save this movie!
2.Jeetu(Akshaye Khanna):Jeetu`s father is very mean and doesn`t want to spend even a money!Jeetu wants to start a business for which he needs money, but his father is not helping him!One night, he steals his father`s money and leaves his house!He opens a store for DVD players and all that stuff!Akshaye Khanna, was excellent in ’’Dil Chahta Hai’’ and then in ’’Humraaz’’, but here he doesn`t impress much.He tries to be funny but falls flat!He isn`t loud but still, he is unimpressive!
3.Anjali(Rimi Sen):Anjali, has escaped from her home, because she was going to get married to a stupid person, who was the son of the man, who gave Anjali`s mother money for Anjali`s education!Now that Anjali`s mother could not give money to him, so she had to marry his son!To get a fine job, she comes in the city and lives with Nandu in a room, pretending to be his wife!One day she goes to Radheshyam Tiwari`s house, a rich man, to find a job and there Jeetu also comes for some work!He is mistaken that she is Radheshyam Tiwari`s daughter!Anjali makes full use of it!Rimi Sen makes a debut in the most stupid movie ever and manages to pass, but her voice is very irritating!She should do something about her dialogue delivery!
4.Radheshyam Tiwari(Paresh Rawal):Radheshyam Tiwari, is a very rich person who is the owner of Anjali industries!From a village he comes back to city!A boy stayed in his house, when he wasn`t there and acted as he was Radheshyam Tiwari`s son!Now, when a person, whom he cheated, comes to Radheshyam`s house, asks about his son!His suspicious wife thinks that he has a son from another woman and one day she suspects that he is having an affair with the girl Anjali!Paresh Rawal is one of the best comedian!Agreed!But here he is very loud, irritating and unimpressive in a half-baked role!He tries too hard to be funny but didn`t make me laugh!
5.Mrs.Anjali Tiwari(Shoma Anand):Mrs.Tiwari, is a suspicious wife of a wealthy husband, Radheshyam Tiwari.His husband is suspicious that she is having an affair with Jeetu, where as she has doubt that her husband is having an affair with the girl Anjali!Shoma Anand is the most irritating person in the whole film!Her character is too much exaggerated and also her performance is over-the-top!
Others like Shakti Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav and Tiku Talsania are also very irritating and Rajpal Yadav`s scenes are completely torturous!
THE STORY:
Anjali, comes to a city, escaping from her mother who was going to get her married to a stupid, silly boy because she couldn`t return his father`s money, which she owed to him!Anjali lives with nandu, in a room, and pretends to be her wife!One fine day, she goes to the house of a rich industrialist, Radheshyam Tiwari and there she meets Jeetu!Jeetu thinks that she is Radheshyam`s daughter, and now Anjali makes full use of it!She asks him for a job, and gets 5000Rs.per month!Now, will she face the truth!Her one lie has created lots of misunderstandings!What will happen?Actually, the film has no storyline, and it is the most CONFUSING, movie of the whole year 2003!
THE WORK OF THE CREW:
Priyadarshan`s direction is very poor and he hasn`t given the film a good treatment!From the very beggining of the movie, it seems to be unattractive and disinteresting!There is nothing new in the film and nor is it modern!This film is really very POOR!Screenplay, is worse!The film looks confusing, and strange!Editing is also loose!The climax and the second half is stretched like a chewing-gum!Cinematography is fine!Characterisation is poor!Like Akshaye tells his parents that he stole their money and they should have SLAPPED him hard on his face, still they are shown zombis!They`ve shown Paresh Rawal a very rich industrialist but not once I saw him doing any kind of work!All the time he relaxes in his house, still, I don`t know how is he so rich!Then, we shouldn`t also work!!!They`ve also shown that Tiku Talsania wants to give a room on rent, to a married couple only!WHY???Every character is shown stupid!From, a rich industrialist to a servant everyone is IDIOT in this film!Everyone, in reality is very sharp and intelligent and so, this film is very unrealistic!Who do such things in such modern days?Nadeem_Shravan`s music is mundane and there was a very silly song in which Paresh Rawal was romanicng Rimi Sen and Shoma Anand was romancing Akshaye Khanna!SICK!!!

1.Headache(I suffered from it!)
2.Can make you deaf
3.Brain Damage(My brain was damaged and I could think of nothing for one whole day!!!)
4.Heart-attack(Weak people and even normal ones!BEWARE!!!)
ON THE WHOLE:
’’Hungama’’ is one of the worst movie in every means!It should seriously be avoided!With three more films released with it, this film will definitely be a FLOP at the box-office!
Final Verdict:POOR!
