Not very long ago, in the land of technology, lived a guy named Bill Gates. He had companions such as Sabeer Bhatia, Andy Grove, Yahoo’s Yang etc. These guys built solid products on reliable technology.
But greed soon set in India. Some slick marketeer started working for some Hotel in Bombay...after getting some degree from Allahabad, of all the place! His name was/is Neeraj Roy. This guy had some great marketing ideas...you would need that to deceive people anyway.
So he got a site built. He created a hungama. Called it Hungama.com Absolutely zero in technology, he just made alliances here and there. Hired a PR agency which got him pictures in Bombay Times etc...and he soon began to call himself CEO of Hungama.com Obviously he didnt know anything...I think he still does’nt know anything about technology. His site flopped. Hungama hogaya barbaad. Remember Hungama to hai kyon barbaad..thodi si peeney do?
Hungama sucks on many areas. First of all I HATE SITES that require login/password to enter. It’s criminal waste! Why should I login just to browse. For that matter I like Mouthshut, you dont need to login unless you have to write. The day mouthshut does this, I will hate it.
Hungama got competetion from some websites, such as C2W.com an nazara...and they gave him good run for his money. His money?? Oh his VCs!
