The book is yet again one of the best adventure thriller books that you would love to read. The story weaves around the girl Katniss, a girl who lives in district 12 .The story has a totally different plot and story, it focuses on the effects of wars and how people suffer. I am totally mesmerized by the view that the writer offers through her words. Unlike other stories which show a man’s perspective this story shows a girl’s perspective on things and problems. Suzanne Collins has described each place with great detail, which will make you imagine the whole scene as a movie. Katniss is daughter of a coal miner who died in blast. life has been harsh to them since then. Her mother is weak and is unable to recover from her husband’s death but Katniss shows braveness and hunts for herself and her family which includes her sister Prim, her mother and a cat . THE HUNGER GAMES is a game which is organized by the capitol who is rich and organizes this game as a reminder of its superiority and the defeat of district 13 which was burnt to ashes . Every year a boy and a girl tribute are chosen from each district and are put into a arena where they have to survive with limited supplies of food and fuel and have to fight off death . The one who survives till the last is the one who wins. Katniss volunteers for the games because in the reaping her sister’s name was chosen and there was no way she would let her die in that game . At first she is hopeless about her victory but step by step she makes an impression on everyone. In the arena she encounters many problems but being a hunter escapes them off . The story has its own twists and turns.
It has romance, suspense and most of all thrill which we all readers look for. I loved this book and would advice all the fiction lovers to read it .
