Hungry Heart is a story of ambition and triumph of spirit.It is the story of Kanou Kyosuke who had given up on his favorite game and passion, soccer because he felt he can never be as good as his brother who is a professional player and an international star.Kanou hates being compared to his brother, as it adds to his feelings of inadequacy.But one day, (from this our story starts)Miki, a classmate and captain of the school’s Women Soccer team notices him kick a soccer ball, and asks him (blackmails him, actually)to coach her team for a week.
It changes Kanou’s life forever..he is noticed by Mori, team manager of Mens Soccer team, and he is persuaded by both Miki and Mori to join.And thats when Kyosuke’s struggle for self-identity begins, its how he discovers his own unique way of playing soccer, it is how he begins to come out of his brother’s fame and success’s shadow. Watch Kyosuke, along with his best friends (and very talented)Rodrigo, a brazilian transfer student and mid-fielder, and Sakai Jefferson, a half-swedish goalkeeper, hone their skills and change the whole direction of Orangehill Men’s team.
Hungry Heart may be light and humorous when it comes to interaction between the trio, Kanou, Rodrigo and Sakai, but it also has dark undertones of each character’s emotional struggles.And also, matches shown in this series are quite exciting!!
