Wherever You Go……..Our Network BOTHERS YOU !!!

This review is from someone who has been a regular customer of Hutch (I curse myself for that) for the last not 2 months or 6 months………….but more than 2 and a half years (very foolish I guess). I took a prepaid connection in May 2004 and since then had been cruising alongwith them inspite of their continuous jolts in terms of poor network coverage , lack of customer friendly offers and promotional activities etc. Not that I could not afford to switch to another more customer friendly subscribers , but I did not want to take that extra pain of again filling up my address book with contacts. And frankly speaking , mera Kaam to Chal Hi Raha Tha……..so I continued with it.


Recently , around October I received a call from their call centre regarding a newly launched 99Plus postpaid plan exclusively meant for old and loyal customers like me. I liked the plan very much and went for it since it appeared to be very economical. Initially everything went well, my first bill was as low as Rs.51 only , all 500 SMS were free as was promised for the first 3 months. The problem started soon after I made my first payment. One day, while I was coming back from my office , I got stuck up in a big traffic jam and decided to make call home……..to pacify my family. Even before I could dial the number………..a message from Hutch Care flashed onto my screen saying that since I have exceeded my credit limit of Rs.(amount unmentioned) so the services of my Hutch Phone have been barred(I don’t even know whether its is incoming/outgoing or both). To make matters worse these ahs even barred my toll free calls to their customer care. I was furious, and reached home quite late somehow. Next day in the morning , I again tried Hutch Care and this time to my surprise not only was the call answered but I was also able to speak to one of their executives. He was polite enough to help and requested me to make the payment asap to one of their teleshops within a day or two. I did exactly as was told and made payment at Preet Vihar branch teleshop and even received an acknowledgement for the same from Hutch through sms. My problem was solved but not for long. Not more than exactly 2 days had passed after this entire fiasco that I saw the same message from these bs again. On top of that an executive calls me up to give me my second bill details which was ready to be dispatched. Can you imagine the bill amount? Rs. 1672/-. For hardly making any calls. I ripped her apart with the choicest of abuses but it hardly made any difference. I kept on telling her that I have made the payment 2 days back………..but she was unable to find anything as per her records. Further, my outgoing call services had already been deactivated. After sometime I hung up myself and threw away my SIM.
