Great place to do some window shopping!

Exterior of Hyderabad Central

I visited Hyderabad Central shopping mall on a recommendation from a friend. I was impressed with the overall style and feel of the immense shopping centre. Hyderabad Central is located in a prime location, near Panjagutta in Hyderabad.   The building is very large and has the slogan, ’’Eat, Shop and Celebrate’’ all over it. After entering, you are asked to hand over all your baggage. There were 2 uniformed security guards, holding rifles, I believe. I saw something which looked very nice so I wanted to take a picture of it. One of the guards, shouted ’what are you doing’?   He pointed to a small sign, ’’No pictures inside the mall’’. I said ok and put away my camera. I took a lot of pictures outside of the mall, including the security guards looking at me.

Interior of Hyderabad Central

The inside is all air conditioned. It wasn’t very warm outside since it was only mid February. But, I’m sure it would be a welcome relief to be inside if it were April or May.

The feel of walking inside the mall was just as if I were in a major mall in Toronto.   I couldn’t believe I was in India! Also, the majority of the people walking around the mall were young people walking in groups.   All of them were wearing trendy clothes. We had lunch at Pizza Hut, which was a good experience, and well worth it...Rs 200 for 2 people. Don’t forger to ring the bell to indicate if you had a good time!

The Merchandise

I didn’t purchase anything, mainly because I didn’t go with the intention of buying anything.   I found the prices of to be on the expensive side...I compared the price of a cotton shirt, which would cost about $20 here in Toronto. The price listed was Rs 1, 875   This would work out to about $48. I’m sure if I took the time to look for something, I may have found something worth the price.

Conclusion

Be sure to visit Hyderabad Central, if you visit Hyderabad. If not for anything else, but to look around and be impressed with the magnificent shopping centre. I’m glad to have visited the place and to get a feel of one of the malls back in Toronto.
