I would like to inform you about a recent incident encountered in HOME TOWN mall, which is next to Hyderabad central. Me and a friend of mine used to the lift in the 5th floor to come down, but as soon as the doors closed, it got stuck and was going up and down between 4th and 5th and was stuck between 4th and 5th after sometime. The telephone inside the lift as well as the alarm did not work, and we did not have any numbers to call. It was scary and my friend was literally shivering with fear.
Finally we called just dial and they gave us the number of Home town reception, when we called them, they are asking us to call after 10 mins. I was furious and asked them to send a maintenance chap to fix it. These guys come after 20 mins and start laughing. Finally after 30 mins of ordeal in the lift, it was open. I wanted to talk to the store manager, but they were’nt letting me. After looking in several floors we found him. He seemed pretty decent and called these guys and scolded them.
Still I would advise those of you who are shopping in Home Town to stay away from the lifts there. While externally we are getting globalized with shiny stores and professional looking malls, the people are still the same laid back, and without any work ethics. I do not know when these things will change.
