The Accent CRDi is a great car. Love the sedan looks and fantastic value for money. Wonder what Hyundai was thinking when they discontinued it. Have done 1, 27k in my 04 car. Needed to do a complete engine overhaul sometime last year. However, the Hyundai Authorized Service Station at BKC (also has a branch in Kandivali) completely botched up the work. The guy charged me a fortune, took a month to complete the work, but put in cheap pistons and duplicate piston rings, used shims instead of a head gasket etc....the list goes on. The engine blew in 25kms after its return from the said garage.
Then got the work redone from a friend’s garage (at half the cost) with original parts procured from Opera House and now the car is as good as new. Still is able to kick it on the road and leave the competition in the rear view.
Would advise everyone to avoid the said workshop for any cars. The guy is a sweet talker, but not able to deliver as per promises. When you call to complain, he seems to be stuck at some hospital somewhere.
