The Accent CRDi has clocked 10250 kms till date.

I want to share my experience about the fuels available today for us.

I regularly use Turbojet from Indian oil which I find gives better Value For Money. I did try Shell which recently opened a petrol station in Chennai. I was highly disappointed with the quality of fuel that comes from a company of such repute. The car gave me a disappointing 14 kmpl. I check mileage on a full tank to full tank basis and use the same petrol station. Switching back to turbojet from Indianoil returned the mileage back to 17 kmpl. Any readers have similar experiences about various fuels and the quality would be welcome to share them at this forum.

Coming to tyres, The Bridgestone tyres that came with the car are adequate while driving in the dry. Any other surface throws the car out of its composure. Also, I use dry nitrogen in the tyres to get a better ride instead of atmospheric air. The benefits of dry nitrogen is that it keeps the tyre from getting hot and gives a better life especially during long journeys. Also, we do not need to check pressure every week. Once in 8 weeks is sufficient and the pressure hardly reduces.   The compliance also improves.

I am interested in knowing the correct upsize / tubeless tyre for the accent. I would like to shift up to 195/60 or 205/60 R 13 after these tyres are done. Can I hope to get a mileage of 50000 kms?

The car seems to be getter by the day. All praises for the Koreans..this goes well beyond my expectations and more..

Great stuff
