I regard to the query, let me state that the car is very good on the highways, I have driven its comparabale models and find it excellent in ride quality. secondly, furl effiency wise, on highways - 90 kms both ways recently - total 180 kms, through villages / towns enrote - I and my colleague calcualted roughly 16-17 kms per litre as the average. secondly, in cities, with frequient braking and stopping, I believe I can honestly state that atleast 9-10 kms per litre is the average, on less traffic, could be 11 kms per litre also.
Thirdly, i can state that the car is certainly worth it but an aging model - some rtelatives etc may ask about this aspect - as I have been. Aging does not mean its a useless model but liooks wise its been around for some time. But you save a packet also ! Thats it.
i have bought this car and my brother in law also drives one, we find this a happy choice considering the host of features the car offers. Paint quality is good, space is very adequate, the console is now having a wood finish, the engine and suspension is excellent. it is the best entry level car in the mid size segment. The car magazines also advise the same.
The company could have made central locking complimentary atleast. Its competitors state it could be withdrawn but as per my interaction, they have no car in the segment between santro, getz and verna, so this will be around. The engine is powerful on the hills, as per me. we have another entry mid segment car from another company, this really compares well. The company should atleast install speakers as does its competition. This is a good family car, suitable not for the adventurous but the steady family type, wirh a wife and a couple of kids.
Portion added on 21/12/07 - after driving a good stretch on a highway today, I will add it really comes into its own on highways, mileage was not an issue on the highway - atleast I have no complaints. pick up on highways is good and swift. secondly, I compared it with my brother’s car - which is really popular now a days - developed pecially for india as a sedan, the accent has all the features essentially. again, on the highway, the suspension quality was good on small potholes and bumps etc. the cup holders are not meant for our roads though! . any other point required, pl advise.
