I had hired an Accent to go from Delhi to Nainital. It has done 90000 kms. I thought the car would have no power, would rattle if it went over a pebble, brakes would be crap, pick up would be crap. But I was wrong. The car was extremely stable at high speeds. I was driving at 130-140 kmph and the way the car was handling I had the confidence to further increase my speed (i didn’t do that though. My mom got mad when she saw the speedometer at 130)
The car gave an average of 12 kmpl.
The suspension of the car is excellent and you hardly feel the bumps on the road. The seats are extremely comfy. The only fault in the car is the lack of leg room for the back seaters. It gets quite cramped for the ppl sitting at the back.
Today, a 2 yr old Accent will cost 3.2lakhs which I think is VALUE FOR MONEY. If you have more cash to spend then you can buy the diesel Hyundai which I heard gives an average of 16 kmpl.
I’d rate this car as the best mid-sized car for Indian roads.
