I am considering to buy automatic Honda City(Petrol) or this Creta(Diesel). Both are basically 2WD, just Creta has higher ground clearance. Just comparing automatic transmission - Honda City VX AT(Petrol) has ARAI mileage of 19 km/l, while Hyundai Creta AT(Diesel) has ARAI mileage of 17 km/l.
Similar prices for the cars, but considering annual maintenance charges of approx. Rs. 7000(for City petrol) and 12000(for Creta diesel), my calculation shows that owning a petrol Honda City AT is cheaper than diesel Hyundai Creta AT if your monthly usage is upto 400 km. My personal opinion: car for car, Honda City is a better 2WD than Hyundai Creta, no offence to Hyundai. City has: Cruise control, Paddle Shifters, more rear legroom. Creta has: projector headlamps, higher ground clearance, slightly more boot space.
