The Hyundai i20 has the best looks and features in the hatchback segment in India. You will not fins any other brand which has the same features that the i20 provides in its class. But the previous gen i20 has better extra features which dissapeared on the new elite and active gen like Sunroof, 6 airbags and rear disc brakes. Thats maybe to cut of pricing for the vehicle.
Now coming to the engine 1.2 petrol poduces 82BHP and the 1.4 diesel produces 89 bhp. Both are underpowered when compared to the Honda Jazz petrol and diesel.
The drivers seat is the most uncomfortable of all. The suspension setup is good but for those 16" inch rims on the top end versions, you will feel the ride bumpy and produces alot of banging noise. Mind you if you hit a pothole!
The other problem with the i20 is the mileage, not very promising as ARAIs claim of 18kmpl. You will be definitely dissapointed especially with the petrol variant. Thats not even possible on the highway.
The build quality of the ca is very good to say. No cheap plastics unlike Mahindra vehicles! But not so top class like a Polos quality.
So afte much quoting, its your choice not mine. If you want to get a car for looks and features get it but if other reasons matter to then get a Polo, Swift or Jazz are your other options.
Thanks
