Getz Prime Vs Palio 1.6 GTX

Hi,

I have bought Getz Prime 1.3L GLS on 23rd September. It was hard decision for

me to part from Palio 1.6 GTX as I have used it for 5.5 years and all of my

family really loved it.

The things I like in Getz over Palio are:

  1. More Space

  2. Lot of cubby holes to keep most of the regular items(water bottles, keys,

headphones, CDs, portable ashtray, hook to hang small bags etc)

  1. Hand rest for drivers left hand and raised(should say properly positioned)

right hand rest on door.

  1. Smooth suspension(was really amazed) without sacrificing much on handling

  2. Very less Turning radius & Tiltable steering wheel

  3. Split(60-40) & Reclining back seats

  4. No protruding suspension mountings in the boot.(Also boot door closes very

smooth)

  1. Little higher position of the driver vision(not sure how they managed

this), I felt I could see more clearly than Palio.

  1. Reasonably good pick up(not as pocket rocket as Palio 1.6 GTX). I have

observed a lot depends on the gear shift.

  1. Super sleek gear shift(I use my finger tips to change the gears) with

highly refined engine. Clutch lock(have to press clutch to start the engine)

  1. Flat top of the dashboard

  2. Pleasant showroom reception and service center as well.(Advait @ residency

road and service @ mission road). Santosh and Gowrish were very friendly at showroom

and Lingaraj was good at service center.

We had a very bad experience at Honda showroom at Lavelle road, nobody was to

even ask why are we hanging around in the showroom for 20 minutes. And “We have

the best products, where else you go?” behavior of Maruti showrooms.

However I had only one hiccup after delivery that the car was pulling towards

left and got it fixed by wheel alignment at Madhu’s, Double Road.

I am yet to check the mileage. I will post the results once I have done. I am sure with the way its going on it may give me around 12 KMPL in city.

The things I did not like:

  1. Considerable body rolling on rough roads(katcha roads)

  2. Of course not as good pick up as Palio GTX

  3. The PreDeliverCheck should have been fool proof, car had wheel alignment

problem & my Bluetooth Audio system mike wasn’t working

  1. No stock of ABS version. It takes a minimum of 3-4 weeks after ordering

  2. No reverse gear lock(a small ring that has to be pulled to put the reverse

gear as in Palio)

Over

all I am happy with this CAR as its a big family car(wheelbase is more than

Accent) and good value for money proposition with good Hyundai service.
