I have recently bought a Getz Prime, 1.3GLS in Mumbai. The car is almost 2 months old. When I started searching for a car in the sub 6 lakh range , swift was the most obvious option, but I guess am fatigued with that car, so made up my mind to check other cars. Getz, Aveo and Fabia petrol were in option. Getz was the most obvious choice keeping in mind it comes from the Hyundai stable, so was sure about spare parts - quality and availability won’t be an issue.
But I had doubts about it till the time I bought it, Fuel consumption was a big question. Now that I have driven it about 2 months (1700 Kms), I must say the car is superb, the AC is far superior than any car in its class. The cabin is roomy, the glass cover gives you a much better experience.
The build quality is superb and can be compared with City and others in that segment. The 1.3 engine is peppy, awesome power when it comes to 5th gear. Brakes are good too. OK the big question is mileage: my car gives 9.7 - 10.2 Kmpl. I have checked it for more than 4 times that I have filled my entire fuel tank. I am sure it will go ot 12 by the time I have my 2nd servicing.
Please do not compare swift with Getz. Getz surpasses in every way
