Amazing car

I bought my getz in june 2007. I am writing this review so I can suggest you do’s and don’ts when you buy your dream car.


Price: I wanted to buy a santro for my wife but then realized that


Hyundai is replacing Getz with Getz prime. So I went to the dealer and


asked if they still have some GETZ 1.3 with them. Fortunetly they had 2


GETZ GLE in stock. I negotiated hard with


dealer and got the car in Rs


4, 29, 000/-(on road) PLUS 3800(car cover - 1300/- anti rust - 2500/-).


I asked for additional accessories and got these complimentory:




  1. Car Mats




  2. Front power windows




  3. Tubeless Tyres






Dealer’s experience(SHARAYU MOTORS SUCKS BIG TIME)


At the time of Delivery:


I had to do followup everyday to check if anyother document pending so


I can get my car on time. They promised me delivery on 7th June but


when I arrived at dealer for delivery  I told them that money is


still not debited from my acc. They realized that they have lost my


cheque and had no clue till the time I arrived to take delivery of my


car. The car was not ready. They wake up from dragon’s sleep. I had to


come back without taking delivery. Next thing I did was to write to

Finally I caught hold of Hyundai India Service head(i dnt remember his


name now.I think one of the guys mentioned above). He directed me to


Regional Manager(west) and also called Dealer. And then I think


they  gave some good treatment to dealer. Dearler guys came


begging to my office and offered to deliver car at home. I learned a


lesson " NO POINT TALKING TO DEALERS.IF THEY ACT SMART COMPLAIND TO


HYUNDAI EVEN IF IT IS A PETTY ISSUE".


I got the car on 14th June 2007 and since then I am a happy driver.


For Free accessories:


The experience was really bad. I asked them to change my Mat thrice.


They gave me mats which were already used. Then they apologiesd and


replaced the mats. I felt the mats are kind of really tiny for this


car. When I checked with a parked SANTRO during my first free


service.I was surprized to see that the mats were actually for


SANTRO:) I asked them to replace.they apologised and replaced them


again with original GETZ mats. But sadly just after using them for 4


months they are showing sign of excess usage and abbration.


ADVICE: Please ensure that you get the correct accessory and ask for


guarentee/warantee of the product and replacement policies. If there is


any problem with accessories immediately bring it to dealers notice and


get it replaced.


Free Service and anti-rust treatment:


It was for name only a free service as the car was returned without even cleaning it. They told me importance of Anti


Rust but it was later I realized that these JOKERS dnt even know


spelling of ANTI or RUST Leave apart giving such treatment to my car.


They carged 2500/-(A A4 size printout at the cashier counter suggested that they usually charge 3500/-


but during monsoon there was some special discount).




  1. wash car




  2. Dry car




  3. wash car areas facing ground(chasis, body above tyres, axle etc) with Diesel




  4. Dry it and then paint it with some special black paint(some special paint)




  5. Let the car dry overnight






When my car was delivered after anti rust the paint was all wet and not


done uniformly. Then I relized dealer staff is not even well equiped


with information like.what is this paint, how much time it will take


to dry etc.


I waited for ONE WEEK and paint was still  WET. I went to dealer again and got anti-rust done again FREE OF COST.


About the car:


When I drover car home for the first time I forgot all the pains and


issues I faced while buying this car. It was very smooth and fun to


drive.


Mileage: 12.5 kms in City(I drive everyday from Vashi-BKC-Vashi) and


17.5 on Highways+other roads(I did Vashi-Pune-Shirdi-Pune-Vashi)


Noise Inside Cabin: NONE other than. There is some rattling noise in


the rear parcel trey. Which I hope to get corrected when I visit dealer


for next service.


Power Stearing: Amazing:) I simple love this car more because of its Power+TILT Steering


Driving Posture: Very comfortable. Due to its tall boy type design the


view of road is great. Its gives you feeling of a small SUV(with due


respect o all SUV owners:)) Its not like maruti esteems(i had one)


where you feel like in sitting on a excessively low seat  with no


good view of road.


Things I love: Clutch rest pedal, day/night mirror, clutch start lock


(car will not start till u dnt press clutch), tilt-steering, smooth


gear shift, quality of interiors(better than maruti’s but could be


better), Tubeless tyres(it feels like gliding and you dnt feel those


regular bumps). Reliability.
