A change of job last year, made it imperative for me to buy my own car. All this while, I was using my ex-employers Honda City. Now, I knew I couldnt afford the City but need something as stylish, powerful and comfortable.
I started my search with Ford Ikon, totally caught by the Rs.49, 000 discount campaign. The only thing good about the car was its campaign. On my wifes insistence I moved on to the Maruti band wagon, particularly WagonR. It lacked power and creativity. Hyundai was my next stop.
On a Sunday afternoon, while crossing Lokhandwala (Mumbai) I laid my eyes on a Getz for the first time. It was love at first sight. Quickly I changed my evening plans and signed in for a test drive. This was to be my 65, 459th testdrive in the last two weeks, or so it seemed. It took exactly 3 seconds into the test drive session to set my mind on the car.
Getz is a big car into a small setting. It has the power and the comfort of a mid size and city manuverability & fuel economy of a small car. Whether you are cruising on a highway or stuck in a bumper to bumper traffic, you will not be able to miss the power of this car. It can take off on third gear from dead stop position and can come to a complete stand still from 80kmph. 0-60 under 10 seconds. 10-12 km per litre of petrol.
The most amazing feture of the car is the space inside. Enough leg space for passangers at the back, even with front seats pushed half way back. The luggage space, as well, is bigger than most small cars.
Getz, backed with supperior Hyundai service, is most definately the best car in its category. I have completed 10, 000 kms over 8 months and still cant get enough. Very highly recommended
