I recently bought a second hand 2006 Hyundai Getz GLS which had done about 35k Kms. Two aspects I liked about the car were its manoeuvrability and space - both inside the car and the boot. The first is pretty commom with all cars in the same segment while there are few cars like Indigo and swift that score well in the second aspect as well.
What sets Getz apart though, is the gear shift. I have had the opportunity to own a handful of used cars from different makers at different points in time which include Swift, Accent, Sonata, City, Optra and an Esteem and I can definitely say that the Getz gear shift is definitely one of the smoothest. Coming back to the space, I am about 6 feet tall and I can fit in comfortably in all seats within the car. What adds to the comfort is the fact that the steering wheel can be adjusted to accomodate long legs. The noise from the engine is another important parameter that
I always consider and is well within tolerable limits. I did observe few blind spots while turning left which probably is due to the tints on the windows especially at night. I have only done about 700 Kms since I got behind the wheels of which around 350 have been on the highways (Chennai - Banglaore). I was pleasantly surprised to note that within Bangalore city, I get around 13-14 kmpl mileage (without A/C) when I expected it to give around 10 or 11. I will post my follow up review with my highway mileage details once I make my next trip.
