I bought a Getz GLE two and a half months back and my experience till now is very satisfying. at
Car is stable and noise levels inside the cabin is very low. I even turned my ignition key one time thinking that engine of the car is not running when infact the car was already started.
I travel in congested Bangalore roads and my daily trip of 20 kms to Electronic city via Hosur road, for work, yields me a mileage of 11-12 kms without ac. This is after first service. I expect it to increase to 12-13 km after 3rd service.
I noticed that many users of Swift also complaining about lack of pick up till engine reaches a specific rpm. I guess Getz also have the same problem. I can drive at 20 km/hr in third gear but if I stamp the accelerator, car will not give a sharp response. Thi is quite comprehensible and the solution is to drive in appropriate gear for the speed. This always works.
I have driven 1400 kms in two and a half months and there is absolutely no rattles to be heard from any part of the car, which is a common complaint from Swift users.
Some of the plus points of the car are :
1) Good fit and finish
2) Spacious cabin
3) Sitting position is very natural and hence comfortable. Only a Zen can rival this in small car segment
4) Powerful A/C which cools the cabin very fast
5) Adjustable steering height
Below are some of the disadvantages :
1) Side pillars are wide and obstruct view. One needs to be aware of this drawback and try to strech and see the road through both the sides of the pillar before taking a turn in a crowded city where a two wheeler will always manage to sneak in unnoticed into that blind spot. Even Swift also has this problem.
2) Ground clearance could have been a tad higher. On two occasion, the under side of my car scraped on the road. But on the other side, the wide road hugging stance promotes aerodynamics and grips better to the road.
3) At high speeds, steering is a bit vague.
It is a nice family car. If you are my kind of a guy who uses the car to commute to and fro to work in a rather crowded city and take family out for a drive once in a while ( inter city and intra city ) then go for it without hesitation.
