I think the Title says it all..My primary Reqmts were Ride Comfort, Good looks, Space and adequate mileage..Its been 4 weeks since I brought home this car, Have been driving within Chennai and the suburbs a bit, yet to take it on a long drive.Mileage is something I would post once I tune it after my second service.Ride comfort is solid, better than Maruti 800/Alto and Santro anyday..Gear shift is as smooth as a feather.Ride is so smooth, sometimes in traffic signals I wonder if its got switched off.
Suspension is pretty good..It handled the 4 bumpy stretches on the Thoraipakkam-Pallikaranai road(adjacent to the marsh..) like a baby..Didn’t feel a thing!!I got a wonderful Mp3 player installed - Blaupunkt - Mayi(i think thats the name) with Pioneer speakers..Solid sound!!!I felt Amps and Subs may be too gaudy for a hatchback but considering the space inside, I may change my mind any time..Dealer was DCS Hyundai, T Nagar..Well I don’t think I want to talk about the sales folks there..They just SU*K.
The only exception being the Territory Sales Manager - Murali..Guy was quite friendly and negotiating with him was a pleasure..I didn’t even meet him till I took the delivery of the car.Only problem was I didn’t the color I wanted(was Looking for a Passion Red) but had to settle down for a Real Earth.Problem was from Manufacturer they didn’t have a Passion Red bcos Getz Prime was set for a release and particular paint stocks were out due to Verna..I have also got to applaud the guy who fixed the MP3 player , I even got him to give me a Demo before taking delivery.
He had done a superb job of tuning the player for the speaker set.On Road GLS cost me 5.1L..I got the Mp3 system, Under chassis trmt, mud flaps, Car cover, Seat Cover(yet to install they didn’t have it in stock), Steering covers, Perfume set etc thrown in ..What I didn’t get was the Mobile charger cos they claimed Hyundai doesn’t have that as a genuine accessory..Overall a superb car..REVIEW Post 4 Years of Usage:ad to change the Clutch and Brake Pads after a cousin drove it an year back.
Also changed the Battery and tires last month. Haven’t had any complaints, except for a oil leak in the very first year, when I drove it at 80Km/hr over a speed breaker on a State highway. I would recommend Michelin tubeless tyres, its much smoother and steady on the roads. Mileage remains at around 10-12 km/pl.Fun in this car is in the Driver’s seat...I have done 60K so far!!As I said 4 yrs back, it still remains a superb drive!!!
