I had bought my Getz GLS in Jan 2005. Ive driven 22, 000km (as on date) without any hassles.
Getz is an awesome car!
I had driven from Bangalore to Ooty (my native place) 7 times since I had bought this car and every drive has been a memorable one; the credit goes to my car and ofcourse some credit goes to the driver (its me) as well. The performance of the car has been amazingly good on the hills of Ooty. The suspension was good considering the potholed curvy roads on the hilly regions of Ooty!
The vehicle is completely stable and smooth even at the speed of 120kmph. I was able to hit 140kmph on the mysore road a couple of times (the mysore road deserves some credit as well).
The gear shift is surprisingly smooth and located in a very comfortable place/position compared to some of the other cars I had driven; its fun to drive shifting the gears in the obscenely crowded Bangalore city traffic.
The interiors are fantastic except for the fact that the quality of the seats couldve been taken a little more care of by Hyundai. It has a huge dashborad which gives a very stable and secure feeling sitting in the drivers seat.
The interior space is phenomenal! Infact it has more driver and passenger space than most of the 3 box sedans available in India.
The AC is good and all the controls (knobs and the music player) are tilted a little towards the driver for easy acessibility.
The noise in the cabin is very low once the windows are closed.
I had recently (test) driven Chevrolet Aveo, Maruti Swift, Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Accent to choose a car for one of my friends and I was convinced that I had made a good choice of buying the Getz for myself. However, my friend wanted a sedan and he has recently bought a Ford Fiesta.
Getz: Cool looks, great interior design (spacious), good performance, smooth drive, good value for money; I guess Im not exaggerating, however, I might be a little biased (the fact that I own a Getz); go for a test drive so that you can appreciate it!
You would, perhaps, get disappointed with the mileage (10-11 kmpl in the city); but that could be a small (?) compromise to make considering the other features of this car.
The Getz is a big car in disguise!
