Hi friends, this is my 1st review on the site.
I have been looking for a new car for about 3 months now and finally settled for Hyudai Getz GLE.
The GLE version has been introduced very recently by Hyundai, may be to compete with the SWIFT drive.
The difference between GLE and the version above it (GVS) is of Power windows and central locking, but the price difference is of 37K.
But I guess now the insurnace is being offered with the GVS so you can deduct that from the difference. For me, it was s difference of 20K.
I didn’t find spending 20K more just for the Power Windows. The dealer was ready to put central locking and MP3 player with few more accessories.
The car is a beauty!! Looks wise and the design wise too..The Engine, extra smooth 12V, 4 Cylinder Inline, MPFI, 1.3 Litre SOHC gives a wonderful ride.
The best part is the Gear Shift!!!! I have yet to see such a smooth gear shifting in any of the cars in India.
Pick up is good without AC and with AC also it is pretty decent.
Suspensions are great!! It can eas the pain of a bumpy ride we face in these rainy days.
Space is the winning factor for Getz in comparison to its rivals. It has good rear seat space and smartly design boot space. 3 adults can fit in comfortbly and you can also carry entire luggage along.
I am 6 feet and drive with my seat pulled back, but still end up with having comfortable space at the back.
I have test driven Swift, Indigo, Indigo Marina, Open Corsa/Sail, Palio before settling for Getz.
The price is comparable to Swift VXI, but the car performs much better.
I was earlier a big fan of Swift and was ready to wait for it. But the biggest factor for change of plans is the space in the Swift, specially at the rear seats and boot. And the suspensions.
I can’t yet comment on the milage part.
With the new version of Getz GLE, it is a better option to go for.
