So, according to me the grand i10 from hyundai is one of the super flop vehicles, that hyundai has manufactured till date. Starting from its engine to the looks and feel, nothing seems perfect. Previously there was the santro xing which was the base model available from hyundai. Priced at 4.05 lakhs, it was just a perfect combination of power and comfort. Till time, the santro was available, the grand i10 was not so popular among the buyers. Hyundai came up with a marvelous business stratregy, and in order to get more revenue and profit margin, started pushing the grand i10 and when none of them got their way, hyundai took the pain to make the santro model obsolete. So naturally, the grand i10 became the base model and now the base model only costed 5.02 lakhs i.e a price much higher than the santro. If one can make a detailed study of this car, one would definitely be sure that this car is priced just higher than it should have been. I didnt seem to like the car from the day I took a test drive. Just for the interest of the readers I tested the Asta variant( petrol) which is the top variant available. Nothing was perfect, the seats are too low in height and the gearbix was just too rigid. The steering should have been more advanced. The horn is at the middle which is a big drawback for the drivers. Braking is not adequate. Clutch is hard and even the pickup is not so good. At last hyundai has realised that this grand i10 is just not upto the level for customer satisfaction and they have started planning to bring back the santro in 2018. If you are a die-hard hyundai fan and you want a hyundai vehicle within 5-5.5 lakhs, then you have no choice but to go for the grand i10, but it just a vehicle which is priced too high.
