It is said that a car is second biggest purchase for an Indian. To me, its the biggest one. I am living in a house that my dad purchased. As my review heading says, the money is well spent. I am very happy with the car.
After struggling for almost two months on the verge of buying the perfect car, I ended up with the i10. Thanks to a couple of my friends, my wife, kid and a couple of online portals. I had considered i10, Wagon R, Tata Indica Xeta and Fiat Palio(I love Palio). Wagon R was discounted because I wasnt happy with the value for money proportion and the fact thats its not a fresh design. Indica Xeta was the best value for money but I am somehow suspicious of Tatas making cars. Though I love Palio but when it comes to buy a new Palio, I couldnt summon enough courage, like everyone else. Its good to see the car and feel good about it. i10 was a winner because of my kid and all practicality reasons. Yes, its a new design too.
i10 is a good blend of features, fresh design, good engine pickup, seat comfort and overall driving pleasure. I somehow dont find the space enough though. Even the fuel economy is on average side. The way seats are designed, it doesnt appeal me. And I also am not a great fan of mounting the gear leaver so high. The bulge in the headlamp is very prone to break and the seatback adjusting lever is in very wrong position and is prone to press by accident.
As far as dealership is concerned, Hyundais Lakshmi dealership was very prompt at the service, from first quote(through carwale.com. read other review of mine) till final delivery. My first service too was satisfactory. Spares/service cost is on low side too. Had broken the tail-lamp while reversing the car and it just didnt cost me much.
