I have a Santro Zing. Recently my friend has purchaged a i10. I have taken a ride of this new i10. My first opinion was, it is a good looking car from front, with old Santro(ZIP drive) back not so good looking.
The steering response is lagging compared to Santro. The steering feels stickey. Replacing adjustable head rest with integrated may be very uncomfortable for a tall person where there is a need for an adjustment.
The rear seat of ERA do not have a neck support at rear seat, which is very uncomfortable for a long ride for rear occupants. The head room of i10 is much less than Santro, which makes you feel more hot during summer when the car is standing for long hours in sunlight.
I drove Santro at a strech for 800kms from Mumbai to Karwar, The journey was so confortable that I felt no strain after the journey. The seating position of i10 being lower than Santro, may be it doesnt offer the driving comfort for long drive.
The trunk room of i10 is also smaller than Santro which is a disadventage in accomodating more luggage which is required for a week long visit.
