I was about to buy a Santro in Sept. but came to know that a new model of Hyundai is going to be launched around Diwali so decided to wait. I was also misinformed that Santro shall be discontinued as the model is almost 9 years old. Finally I bought an i10 Era in crystal white colour on 14th Feb after waiting for almost 3 months since Hyundai was not offering white and black colours due to reasons not known to me.
Till the day I was buying the car my eyes were still set on Santro, the first choice and first love perhaps.
Plus points of i10
I 10 is great with its luxurious beige interiors and console gear shift which makes it roomy. No banging of the gear stick on the legs of the peson sitting on the left.
Power and pick up is also the best in class.
The fuel efficiency Ive got in city is around 16 km/ltr without AC. Long run should be 18 km/ltr.
Overall i10beats Santro in all aspects.
It gives the feel and luxury of a big car and the convenience of a small car in crowded places.
Power Steering is better than that of Santro.
Fronts and rear seats are comfortable.
Smooth and slick gear is the best feature of the car and theres no jerk or vibrations even in 5th gear at low speeeds.
Its a futuristic car and shall definitely improve the standing of Hyundai in India and abroad.
Now the minus points of i10.
- The colour choices available are not too exciting as compared to Swift and most of the colours do not match with the beige interior except for blushing red, electric red, virtual yellow, white and black.
2. The beige colour of the dashboard reflects on the windscreen and the windscreen appears dusty due to the reflection and distracts. Its a major negative point and thats the reason why Vernas upper dash comes in dark shade and the lower portion and sides comes in beige.
The rear view mirror is fixed on the windscreen rather on the roof and is quite an obstruction for a six footer like me who sits upright specially while taking left turns . One has to bend down and check out for vehicles.
The car locks if the driver side lock is locked and the door closed even without keeping the outside latch pulled up. One has to be carefull with this and keep the duplicate key handy on outdoors.
The front air dam should have come in body colour rather in black as it gives the appearance of a french cut beard.
Headlights look beautiful from front but when you stand at the front gates and look at headlights, they look protruding like frogs eyes. Seems to be an eye ogler.
Number Plate should have been on the boot lid like santro.
Difficult to use the car body cover with the fixed protruding antenna on roof top.
Small cars go cheaper in the new budget. Is there a possibility of this benefit of cut in excise duty to be passed on to those who just bought two weeks prior to the budget.?
