Purchased i10 sportz in Aug’10.It has Kappa engine.The looks are very good and so are the interiors. My main area of concern was mileage. Initially in city it gave 12.4 kmpl and on highway - 13.6kmpl. After first servicing my mileage dropped to 10.8 kmpl. So I went to the dealer Sharayu motors in Navi mumbai and asked for some mileage test. After properly tuning the engine( which he says he hasn’t done anything) the vehicle was taken on the main road and tested on one litre of petrol taken in measured qty in a separate container(during this time the main fuel tank was disconnected). The vehicle was driven in main city conditions, traffic was good enough, max speed was 60 kmph and the mileage was 16.2 km with a/c. This information is useful to all and now you can base your decision of purchase of this vehicle on this fact. Moreover I find the seats of the vehicle not very comfortable as was earlier in my maruti vehicle. I tend to tire out in long drives of even 1 1/2 hrs whereas in maruti vehicle I have driven for 14 hrs also! in one day. One more pt about this car is that if u cross a road bump then the vehicle doesnot accelerate immediately and sometimes u have to shift to lower gear also.Rest all are good features of this car .
16th dec, 2011: Folks I thought now I should update some more results of i10 after having driven for more than 10000 km in a year. I happened to go to Chitradurga for my daughter from Mumbai and I got an overall average of 17.2 kmpl. My av speed was 100 kmph with a/c on. In some of the stretches in pune city I got lesser av of about 15 kmph(partly due to poor roads and partly due to hilly terrain) but in some other stretches I got better av and when I calculated the total fuel spent versus the km driven I got the above figure of 17.2 kmph, which is really very good. But before I Tom Tom the vehicle let me warn you that the seats still I feel pretty uncomfortable! I dont know, may be its the design which is faulty? In Maruti vehicles you dont get this fatigue. Now, on an av while going to Mumbai and coming back to Navi Mumbai, I get an av of 14.2-14.8 kmph with a/c and 15.2-16.3 kmpl without a/c. Pl make your valuable decisions for a new car on these solid results and also rate my review. Thnks.
