This is Arjun and I would like to share my experiences with you on hyundai i10 sportz!
I had to choose between punto, wagon R, zen estilo, ritz, spark and swift. I did a test drive on most of the cars. The only portion where i10 lagged was in the suspension section! I had omitted wagon R, ritz, zen due to the obvious reasons of looks and less features. But swift and punto gave tough competition. Both in my opinion are better in looks than i10. But we know how fiat is in India. and if swift and punto will cost u 50k more if you want with same features. Also the NVH factor was better in i10 which I will be discussing later in this review. So I finally decided on i10.
I booked it KUN Hyundai, which is in anna nagar, chennai. After hard bargaining, I finished it for 4.5Lakhs including the insurance and accessories. The current on road price is 4.78 lakhs.
Pros:
1)I have heard a lot of people complain on the mileage of the car. But mind you after the first service the mileage improved much better. I couldnt check the exact mileage in city as the bunk people are reluctant to fill tank till the last drop. But till 1st service I thought mileage was only 10kmpl and after 1st service it improved to 12kmpl with full ac on.so mileage in city needs improvement. But mileage in highway is simply superb. I took this beauty to a 650 km drive up and down from chennai to kumbakonam. Say one way is 350km. The beautiful; NH is only about 170km from chennai to dindivanam where I my constant speed was 70-100 mostly in the 90s.after that the road is bad and const speed around 40-60 only and in many areas u hav to go in half clutch at speeds less than 20kmhr. the mileage I got was 16kmpl.i wasnt sad and yet I wasn’t happy about it either. But while returning from kumbakonam wen I filled tank again, the fuel meter just touched half way. Meaning mileage while return journey was equal to 20kmpl. I was delighted.
2)NVH- Noise Vibration Harshness of this car is simply amazing. Sometimes, u need to check the RPM to see if the car is on.
Due to the NVH, this car doesn’t run on roads, it glides. It feels like u r cutting butter.
3)Steering is responsive & light, the interiors are absolutely exotic.
4)The features of rear head rest, defogger and rear wiper are also really useful.the wiper has 3 speeds while magna has only 2 speed wiper. the boot luggage lamp is also very useful.
5)The air conditioner is certainly better than Maruti’s, the cooling is really fast though sometimes cooling takes time in really hot conditions But is better than maruti.
6) Pick up is awesome and overtaking is also easy
Cons:
1)I feel the luggage boot could have been a little bigger.
2)the suspension needs improvement. its not very good.
3)Wheel is not good enough for highways. for the power this car gives, its really unstable. It feels risky and bumpy to drive after speeds of 120 kmhr.
4)The sound quality of the 2-DIN music system is not that great and installing a woofer means sacrificing the little luggage space that it has.
5)Body is little weak and this is my personal opinion though.
Overall:
I feel this is the best small car in the compact hatchback segment and would recommend this car. Its a beauty and I am a proud owner of Hyundai i10 Sportz
