We are looking for a new hatchback car for our family. The usage is basically city drive with occasional trips to Airport. We already have i10s and Micra . We have seen almost all cars and found 3 cars to our requirement. They are VW Polo , Fiat Punto and i20 . We didn’t go for Swift as there are too many on the road and we wanted something exclusive. We discarded Polo since it has a very poor legroom for the back seat passengers. It’s maintenance cost is also very high. Punto was a good car with abundant features but we have no clue about the service network of Fiat. They came to India when India is not shining and we doubt if they can make any progress. So the left over option was i20. It is a classy car except for the stability at high speeds. Being a Petrol car the mileage cannot be any better. It is on par with cars like Polo and Punto.
Coming to the important aspect of salesmanship , we loved the way Laksmi Hyundai has dealt with our case which involved Bank finance and exchange of our old car. Most of the dealings of documents happened online through emails. We have taken test drives 3 times. Every time their response was positive and came out with ideas to overcome some practical difficulties . They ensured the committed delivery date without any delay at all. The vehicle was handed over in absolute showroom condition and our first drive in severe rain was absolute joy. The climate control AC was too good probably due to the rain. Brakes are good even in the water logged roads. There is a bit of lag in lower gear but once we move to 3rd it was very pleasant. The adjustable headlights are superb not only for the driver but also for the vehicle in the front. The rear seat is very spacious for the Indian women whose average height doesn’t go past 5’.7" . The interiors are classy .
