An update on the i20. I completed 5000 km last week. I purchased the i20 3 months ago. Here’s my review on this beauty.
The Pros:
1) The Drive :
The car is a dream to drive. Its has a very smooth drive. From the beginning when you start the vehicle till you bring it to a stop there is minimal sound.
2) Gear Shifting :
The gear shifting is very smooth { I cant remember any other adjective more than very smooth}. Just a touch of your palm and the gear changes without any trouble. In my friends circle we have the Wagon R, the Swift, Alto, Ikon and Indica Vista. After mine friends drove my car everybody was just swept of their feet. One of my friends even is thinking of selling the Ikon and buying a i20.
3) The Steering feel :
Well, the steering of this beauty is an absolute dream. It is so smooth that just two fingers can turn the vehicle. It can be driven inside a busy market with ease. It is butter smooth.
4) The Ride:
It is good but it is not great. The acceleration on the 1, 2 and 3 gear is good. Overall it is smooth. No noise of any plastics or any parts.
5) Other Accessories:
The folding mirrors is one of the greatest facility given in this car. We can use it whenever we want ie. When parking the vehicle, when on a narrow road and there is not enough space, just have to press a button and both the mirrors fold in and when needed fold out.
The Auto A/C is good as just a press of a button and it cools the whole car with the adjustable temperature outside. No need to turn any knobs etc.
6) The Space :
The driver space is good and the rear cabin space can easily seat up to 3 adults.
7) Average:
Its good. I get an average of 18 km/l without A/C and 16 km/l with A/C.
The Cons:
The Suspension :
It is one of the issue the Hyundai needs to sort out for this car. The suspension is stiff and sometimes can absorb big holes on the roads, we hear a thud.
Ground Clearance:
The ground clearance of the car is not good. The bottom touches the ground if the speed breaker is a little big.
Overall experience :
It is great car to drive and I would definitely advise my friends who intend to buy a hatchback.
