I20 Sportz(P)-Exceptional Premium Hatchback

I have bought this Sportz (Petrol) Sparkle blue beauty in early January this year. However, took a while posting this review to in order to gather reasonable experiences about this car. While basking in the glory of the exceptional and most premium and spacious hatchback segment available across the country, it can definitely challenge (if not overcome) the likes of all ’B’-segment vehicles widely seen around us.

The aerodynamic and streamline shape of the body with the bold creasing lines which runs all along its length make us absolutely spellbound, at first sight. The door handles alongside the opening and closing of the doors, powered outside rear view mirrors, rear power window lock, etc. provides with a rich and premium feel, which are sadly lacking in other ’B’ segments. The blue-lit display of the instrument cluster and all the control switches gives an impression of sitting inside the cockpit of a plane while driving at dark. The chrome plated Gear knob with the Gear-shift indicator in bright blue digital display has been an added attraction indeed. While the pick-up is marginal in the 1st and 2nd gears, but in higher gears it can definitely gallop past any premium sedans by leaps and bounds.

The ample boot and passenger space is no match compared with other narrow-bodied hatchback and even sedans. In fact @ 1710mm, it can boast of the widest amongst all hatchbacks. Three full size adults can comfortably sit at the back without much jostling around. During engine idling, noise and vibration could hardly be perceived while sitting inside the cabin even with the windows rolled down during city traffic conditions unless you quickly cast a glance at the Tachometer. I have even discovered and activated an excellent feature after going through the reviews posted in the net. When the vehicle speed attains 40 km/hr, all the doors are automatchandru021y locked from inside and also the maneuvering the vehicle through motor driven EPS becomes slightly hard. I have found all these unique features unmistakably absent amongst other hatchbacks and even some sedans.

While the designers at Hyundai are found to be quite less innovative to bring it at par in ride and handling matters. The shock absorbers along with the entire suspension system has left a lot to be desired in the otherwise exceptional premium segment vehicle.
