Good product but non-competent service centers

I bought i20 diesel in October 2009 and was very happy with the car until Advaith motors, Bangalore ended it in October 2011. I complained of strange sound near the A/C vents in the dashboard during the 3rd paid service and that proved tragic for my car.

The car was delivered to me saying that the issue is fixed. I took it on highway just 5 days after the service and the broke down due to engine overheating. Reason: Internal Engine coolant leaking, the floormat was all wet when the technicians checked. The car was in the workshop for more than a month. The pistons, camshaft, headunit and even the turbo charger was replaced.

So, the originality of the engine was lost. It didnt end there. In may 2012, I noticed there was strange sound in the engine and when I checked the temperature gauge to find it above normal. I immediately stopped the car to cool the engine. Again it went for service. This time it was in workshop for a month. So, out of 6 months the car was in workshop for 2 months causing me lot of hardship.

Both the times, the repair work was done free of charge under warranty. If not for warranty, it would have cost me more than 2.25 lakhs!! i20 is a good product but then Hyundai has to gear up its service centers to take care of high tech cars like i20, verna, elantra and sonata. I would suggest that they have separate service centers for such cars. Until then I am not considering to buy a Hyundai. And please beware of Advaith in Bangalore. They are not good at all.
