I bought an i20 in Nov09 & April 2010 heralded the darkest day in the lives of the hitherto i20 Owners. At the time of enquiry in Oct09 on my specific question whether it was a BS IV compliant the sales man from Modi Hyundai Goregaon, Mumbai answered in the affirmative & subsequently in the RC Book , which I got in Dec09 it was mentioned as BS III compliant. On further enquiries the sales man said what he meant was Euro IV & wriggled out of it. This month Hyundai started rolling out BS IV Models.
On enquiry with the dealer I am given to understand there is a part costing Rs.6, 000/- which is attached to the new models, but nothing can be done with the existing Cars. So my dear friends if you Own an i20 please join me in the movement to compel HMIL to give us the option of making the our cars BS IV compliant.
HMIL was aware of the switch to BSIV but still continued to manufacture BS III models , though the maruti had taken a proactive approach to launch all the new models as BS IV compliant. Friends, my email ID is sureshn65@yahoo.com & if you i20 owners can contact me at this id and we can launch a movement against HMIL to make our cars Euro Iv compliant.
In my opinion, HMIL is miles behind in serving the customers proactively since a switch to BS IV at the initial stage itself could have spared us a lot of grief.
