I bought a santro 5 months back from Orion hyundai in gurgaon, and have been facing a strange problem with the car - even the workshop folks are not able to figure it out. The car occasionally stops accelerating in 3rd gear and no matter how much you accelerate, it seems to go dead.then if you come down to 2nd gear, it still does not accelerate. I always have to stop the car and then start engaging from the first gear onwards. I t does start running again, but the problem recurs every now and then, and is extremely discomforting.
the unfortunate part is that the vehicle has been thrice to the workshop but the guys are not able to figure out the problem, infact as I write this, my car’s been at the w/shop for over 48 hours! and whwats worse is that I haveNOT even heard from them on the status. I’ve been trying to call the service manager but he’s not available. They haven’t had the courtesy to inform me on how much longer they need to hold my car! it is apathy at its apalling worst.
My fear is that DO I HAVE A LEMON? This is the first time I bought a Hyundai product., a nd am extremely disappointed with both the product and the service.
I bought it with full faith as it a popular product given the sheer numbers you get to see on the roads.
I am wondering what my way forward would be if they are not able to fix the problem and it keeps recurring. Do these guys replace vehicles, or should one go to the consumer court or first try calling the corporate office? incase anyone has any valuable suggestions, pl email me at - chanda19@gmail.com
