Bought from advaith hyundai.
I hate driving , bangalore is no fun to drive so an automatic was the best choice for me.
Maruti no longer makes automatics therefore the only choice in the 5L range was the santro automatic.
The next cheapest is the honda city at 10L.
Dealer service was good though I feel I could have got a better deal if I took more time to bargain. The car works perfectly once you get used to it.
I will never drive a manual shift again.
The default music system has terrible speakers.
I am aware of the problems with automatics, mileage is lower, cannot be push started etc, still I feel that for city dwellers automatics are best.
Imagine no stalling, no rolling back on slopes, no pressing the clutch halfway to get the slow speed you need while parking, no driving with one hand while changing gears, .
I did experience low mileage around 6-7 KM/ LItre on airport road.
Hyundai was helpful and took the car on a test drive with their driver and
exactly one Liter of fuel in a temporary fuel tank. We got 12.9 KM for that litre i
on a weekday afternoon in bangalore in light (by bangalore standards) traffic.
So I guess maybe the low mileage may be due to the bumper to bumper traffic at peak hours on airport road or my bad driving skills. I will change my driving to their advice -
Force an upshift to higher gears by quickly reviing the accelerator and using ’N’ while stopping at signals. I used to use ’’D’’ and press the brake at signals as I had read the computer is smart enough to do what is needed.
The car has faced a few problems notably with the break down of one brake pad
and assorted big dents due to accidents in local traffic. Hyundai replaced the defective parts with no hassle. The Bumps had to be fixed with insurance as is expected.
