I have purchased Santro in Dec-2006 from Advaith Motors Bangalore. The
customer service of Advaith is very good and they delivered the car on
time with all the accessories which were promised during the initial
booking time. Compared to Maruti dealers, Hyundai treats customers very
well and they provide lot of basic accesories(Teflon coating, MP3
player, Seat covers etc) free which helps in unnecessary shooting
of the final price of the car.
Before actually boiling down to Santro I had plans to buy Alto and I
had taken test drives of Alto. But the main problem with Alto is the
space, it is too cramped and getting in and out of this car is very
difficult for average built person hence I ruled out this car. The next
option is Wagnor and Santro. Wagnor is a good competitor for Santro as
it has LPG version also, but the looks of Wagnor is not so great hence
I boiled down to Santro.
I have driven this car for around 3000 kms till now and here are its experiences about it.
Mileage:*
It gives me mileage of around 13km per litre in city drving conditions
with AC and with out AC it gives me around 14 km per litre. On highways it
gives around 17km per litre.
Comfort:*
To be precise the seating is not that great for driving long
distances. The seating should have proper curvaters at the back
provding a excellent back support. We need to have extra cushion
for good back support.
The AC of this car is good but not excellent as it takes atleast
15m(approx) to cool when we take the car out in hot(scorching
sun). When AC is running the power of the vehicle comes down(normal
behaviour).
Drive:*
With its power steering driving this car in the city is very easy. Power
steering is very good it provides excellent manouverablity. Gear
shifting is very smooth.
Overall a decent car with good driving comfort and average mileage. I
would recommend this car for those who dont mind too much about
mileage.
Bye,
Kishore.
