I am a 100% satisfied customer of Santro.
I was looking for a compact car for a small family. I reside in Hyderabad and bought a Santro Xing XO (from Lakshmi Hyundai) about 3 months back.
I was a learner and was looking for a car which is easy to maneuvor in a city like Hyderabad, where traffic is becoming terrible from day to day, and suitable for a small family like ours. Believe me I could become a master within couple of weeks and all my apprehensions, that I had when I bought, proved wrong. I have no problems till date.
The mileage is about 13 to 14 KMPL (I always drive with AC on) within the city. I went for couple of long drives (around 150 Kms range from the city) and observed a mileage of around 15 KPML and had no issues till date. I had a drive on ghat and could maneuver the vehicle very well.
What I observed is that the vehicle is well under control between 80 to 95 KPH. But when I went beyond that (around 100 KPM) I found that its going beyond control. (probably that’s one of the drawback)
Another shortfall (if we can call it) is the view (through the wind shield) when we drive. I feel that it would have been better if the wind shield is a bit curved (like that of a swift) which gives a better view especially when we take a turn (especially in traffic conditions like that of in Hyderabad..where vehicles overtake from all directions).
As far as dealer is concerned I dont have any concerns as of today. The service has been good and so far I’ve recieved three calls from Hyundai asking for feedback and the details that they asked were very minute..which is good.
So..I would definitely recommend Santro Xing XO for people who are looking for a compact family car within the range of 3.5 to 4.5 lacs. Its a good car with cute looks, decent (if not great) mileage and good comfort.
