SMOOTH, SPACIOUS, SEXY THING...THE XING!!!

I bought my Xing eRLX in April 2007 and am extremely contented with it after over 4000 kms. I was lucky to get a limited edition ( fully loaded) version. It has company fitted MP3 player, all 4 power windows, central locking, rear wiper and defogger, body-coloured upholstery and what not!

So far, it has been great for me. True, it is too premature to evaluate the car completely in less than 4 months. However, here is a casual appraisal: I get around 15 kms per lt on highways WITH AC. That’s fantastic, I guess ( pls let me know if anyone disagrees- I would like to learn from you).

When we are with the AC, let me tell you.... it is out of the world. My brothers have an Indica and a Wagon and I have driven both those vehicles extensively. Only the Indica’s AC comes close to that of the Santro XING ( again, I’m sure there will be many who would disagree!!).

The space within the car is unbelievable, especially with the double foldable rear seat. What I found most striking was that, I felt safe and secure while negotiating sharp curves at higher speeds (above 50 kmph), unlike Wagon R which I felt, would simply topple over. The maximum speed I have done so far is 110 kmph and it was VERY smooth ( I did this AFTER completing 2500 kms!!!).

Agreed it doesn’t give you the mileage of a Maruti 800 or even a Wagon R but the smoothness of the drive, its stability, space and beauty more than make up for it.

Overall, I feel it is very good value for your money.
