I had purchased Santro Eco last November. When it was introduced I was very keen to go for it as it is from reputed HYUNDAI and was expecting good mileage. Also Santro is already major superhit in the market with its performance. With these things AND keeping mileage in my mind I had gone for this option. I chose this car as I used to drive on the highways quite often and was expecting good fuel efficiency with a factory fitted lpg kit.
Now I have driven about 8000 plus kms. I was totally disappointed for going in for this option, for the mileage given by this car is too low.
Initially I was told that the mileage would improve after the first 4000 kms. But now I have even crossed 8000 kms and two services are also over.
In city driving contitions, LPG, gives 7.5 to 8 kms / litre and in Highways, it gives a maximum of 9kms/litres. Had I gone for Maruthi Duo, definitely it would have given better fuel efficiency. During the first and second service through DSC Hyundai, Chennai, though this problem was highlighted, yet they do not have any clue on
how to improve the efficiency
how much is the expected mileage that ECO can promise and
To top it all, my inquries revealed that till date HYUNDAI has not supplied any any mileage checking/tuning instrument to DSC HYUNDAI, CHENNAI.
If anybody has got better mileage on ECO, kindly share the details.
But for those who are planning to buy SANTRO LPG, NEVER COMMIT THE SAME MISTAKE..
