I was stunned to read the review of Mr malkit singh vilkhoo because thats exactly what happened with my car. I had bought this santro XG UA07H6756 through CSD canteen in July 2004 in my father in laws name. For the last 4yrs there was not even a single problem with the car but suddenly few days back it stopped moving though engine was starting as if engine is not taking load. Next morning when I started the car, it moved so I took it directly to the oberai service station in dehradun. They checked & found out that crankshaft is damaged. Now in last 4 yrs it has done not even 10, 000 km as I am mariner and my wife uses it only when she actually need it. How its possible that with so less running in crankshaft can damage.
I have paid Rs 23000.00 to get it repaired. I have sent couple of emails with photoes to hyundai customer care but no concrete result. Hope they also read this because now they should know that indeed 2004 santro model had manufacturing defect or may be they already know it and don’t want to admit. From my damage crankshaft photos it is quite evident that timing gear was inserted forcefully onto the crankshaft end during initial installations.
Please help me find out how to get my money reimbursed.
