I am extremely satisfied with overall performance of my Santro Xing which I bought last year. I have been using the Santro XP model for more than a year and over 11000 kms now.
I had decided to buy Santro after thorough research from all possible and relevant contents on auto websites, freinds and dealers. Since Maruti had been a trusted car in the family circle it was a diffcult decision to try something new.
To be frank I did not like the design of the earlier model and hence I admit that the facelift job done by the company was one of the major factor for considering the car in the first place. To zero down on one car between santro, wagon R and zen was a lengthy and tedius process.
Ultimately I am satisfied with my decision. The car’s performance has been as per my expectations. The drive and handling is superb, with amazing ease of operation enhanced due power steering and power brakes.
It was delightful experience to drive 500 kms from Delhi to Dharmashala (with significant hilly terrain) without any fatigue. thereafter I have driven Delhi Jaipur and Delhi Shimla and found the car to perform at its optimum level. All three trips have returned me an mileage of 20kms. Within the delhi city limits it travels 40 kms every day and returns 16 kmpl.
I should mention that since the beginning I have been using only premium brands of petrol (premixed with additives). The tall boy design of the car is a remarkable feature, which I learnt only after using the car. It allows a more upright seating posture with adequate support to thighs. this really helps to prevent fatigue.
Other features like the AC, heating, interiors are also good. There is ample head room and leg space and even the rear seating is very comfortable. the cars offers great value for money in terms of fuel efficiency, power, speed, style as well as space and has a definite edge over its nearest rivals.
The dealer service is excellent and experince of other users have shown that the maintenance cost is also minimal. I strongly recommend it as a family car for city as well as highway travel.
