I bought a Hyundai Tucson in April this year soon after its launch mainly to upgrade from a Safari. I am really happy with this SUV and had a great trip to Himachal . The car behaved like a mountain goat at heights of 12000 to 13000 ft on narrow mountain roads. The handling on winding roads was superb. It always seemed it had enough power even on steep climbs. If you did not know it you could never guess it was powered with a diesel engine. However after returning to Delhi, I was driving on the NH 8 and hit a small pot hole. The tyre burst and ripped open from the side. The tyre had no steel reinforcements and is more like a thick tube with treads. I am surprised how Hyundai can fit such poor quality tubeless tyres on an off roader. Why be penny wise and pound foolish? I would recommend a buy for this vehicle as long as Hyundai can bundle this SUV with better quality tyres and not insist on these poor quality tubeless Korean tyres.
