The dealer was very proactive in sending the demo car to my office. I took three of friends for the test drive.
As far as looks go, some how they are not catchy as Ford Fiesta. The boot looks abruptly cut. Its about 90 ltr smaller than Fiesta. The finishing of wiper joints looked half done. Its very sure to accumulate lots of dust and other material. Lots of places the joints were not properly fitted. By the looks , it was not a car worth 8 lacs
Currently I am driving a petrol car. Have driven fiet palio diesel as well. I felt that palio has much much better designed engine compare to Verna. It claims to be a 100 bh engine but it kicks off only when reach 2400+ RPM. This means if you are lower speed, you need to 10-15 meters to get that kick. But once you get that kick, car just flies off. Which basically means that all that BHP is only useful on highways. In city driving, only the torque will help you. Which I found much better in PalioD
Inside the car I noticed that front area just under the windshield is totally flat. Can not be utilized for placing your wallet or cell phone or a small book. You will have to either bend down to place it glove box or keep in door pocket.
Verna music system does not have CD player. Fiesta has it.
I am researching between Ford Fiesta and Verna. Yet to take test drive of FIesta. But I feel its a much better car. It has 40% quiter engine and strong body.
The biggest plus of Hyundai is their dealer network and parts availability. Which may be lacking in ford.
