The only reason im writing this review is to add to the positives as well as the negatives of the diesel verna. Since my friends own a fiesta and verna diesel, one thing I have come to know is that the comfort, noise reduction levels of a diesel engine, handling, suspension smoothness, steering feel, interior quality and driving position is way way better in the fiesta duratorq. Just dont go by the impression tat Ford cars are expensive and not worth buying. on the other side the verna is an extremely powerful car with loads of torque needed for city and highway, but the really bad parts are the suspension which makes the car jump a lot, unsettling passengers, especially in cratered bangalore roads, and also the seat cushion is not good.
Start both the cars after theyve crossed the 10K mark and notice the refinement levels, ul be surprised. Verna sounds more like the accent Crdi (loud) and the fiesta still sounds very refined. Mind u guys im not a great fiesta fan, but the fact that ur driving a car with lesser boot space, and even with the weird dashboard design which even the Sonata a 14 lk car has is quite boring. ppl who say the fiesta is underpowered are true to a certain extent only, because the fiesta gear shift quality over the long run is very smooth and quick unlike the verna, and this makes shifting in the lower rpm ressponsiveness of the fiesta really useable. Besides the mileage is always higher, u can check MS reviews for that.
