I own a Verna 1.5 crdi vgt diesl whch is 1yr n 4 months old now. Its already done 40000kms as it has done several trips down south. I gona tell u guyz d many good things n a few bad things about the verna that I expreinced in ths period of time.
To begin wid this car is truely a master piece n the best of d lot wch Hyundai has launched in India. [ENGINE] The diesl engine in d verna is indeed a very good engine wich has turbochargers wich improves acceleration wid low fuel consumption. the engine provides more torque it has a very amazing pik-up it truely very economical. the low rpm operation of the engine has resulted in very less wear n tear of the engine. PROS:- has a very good pik up. has a very good engine life, low engine noise, undoubtly the fastest car in its class have touched 180km/hr wid d verna still rock study. has a very good firm n strong handling.
CONS:- not mch cons wid the engine, though if the car is pushed to hard in the initial period the engine gets too heated up giving out burned out smell, so its suggested tht u dont rew up the car above 3000rpm for much time at least till its done 5000kms.
[LOOKS] HAs decent look cant say stunning. LIneA on the other hand has d best look in its class, though the verna isnt bad it loks a bit stuuffed up from outsyd. with not mucg styling donw wid the car.
[FEATURES]: NOw this is one part wre hyundai has alwayz lacked some serious attention. And same goes wid the Verna too. The oly Feature tht ull find in the Verna is the ABS wch is available in the high end model. There are no air bags, no EBS, no parking sensors no cruise control even in the high end model. It has a automatic climate control system which works quite good.compared to others in the class Verna lacks a very good amount of safety n modern features.
[STORAGE] The verna has a pretty food storage place. has a very good boot space almost 460ltrs I guess. there is a rear arm rest wid 2 bottle/ glass stand. there is storage space under the starring thers a sun glass hodler above d rear view miror wch is very usful has storage at the sides of every door. dash board lacks a little space though.
[COMFORT] The verna has a little bit of suspension problem so its a bit shaky inside when the roads a bit bumpy. otherwise fairly comfortable 5 can easily sit in a verna. at high speeds the verna is the most comfortable as even at speed of 140kmph u dont feel the speed as its smooth as a ship. Minimum amount of engine noise infact thers very less vibration, as a diesel engine it only has vibrations in d start but once the car is in motion there is minimum vibration.
[PERFORMANCE] now this is for the d young guys out there, the diesel engine is very much powerful wid over a 100bhp, 110 to be precise. Its fast infact very fast I have pushed the verna to as much as 180kmph n my friend wid the same car has gone even faster. So speed n pik up are of no concern for the verna, as its totally filled wid it. As it has a turbo-charged engine is consumes low amount of fuel too.
[OVERALL] Overall the verna is a very good car wich is good for a family of 4 to 5. the diesel is priced higher than the petrol counterpart by almsot 80000 to 1 lac. The verna provides u wid a average of CIty:- 14 to 15 kmpl and in the HIghway:- 18kmpl. changes that can be made in the car are mainly the music player which isnt that good. the seat covers n the tyres good be fitted wid some stylish n lyt weight alloys. Verna can be any day prefferd over the NEw Linea even though the Linea is stylish n has more features running wise no1 can can match the vernas performence. The verna is truely a value for money car n is very good buy.Verna is better than 1. Linea 2. Fiesta 3. Ikon 4. Sx4 5. Dezire
