This car rocks. I had made up my mind to go for Ford Fiesta TCDI. But one of my friends told me to try VERNA diesel.
The moment I stepped on the accelerator the car zoomed. Even at the speeds of 90-100 the overtaking and maneuvering in the city traffic was not at all a problem. it was like a cake walk. The looks are Ok. I wont say excellent. Compared to fiesta diesel this car is way way ahead. No noise from engine, powerful and the fully automatic climate control is a boon.
My personal feeling is that the great torque this car provides is very useful for city driving (when the chances of overtaking are 50-50). The high ground clearance is good enough for Indian roads. goes smoothly over humps. On highway I touched 120+ speed and the car was rock solid. Though the steering is very light you will get adjusted to it, and mind you the car needs a smart driver at high speeds behind the steering wheel ;)
Fiesta lacked the punch when needed for city driving and I felt that Verna was a better option. Much much better. the cost is almost the same for the top end versions and verna gives you the great variable geometry turbocharged engine that delivers the 24Kg torque between 1900-2750 RPM. What else do you want from a car UNMATCHED POWER + NIMBLE AND SMOOTH + GRET MILEAGE of 15-16 in the city.
