Hyundai Verna: LPG version using sequential24 kit

Its not the new product launched by Hyundai but launched by me. Kidding.

I have been using Verna from 2007 and still continuing it.The only change is that I have converted it to LPG using sequential kit on 12/3/2010.The story goes like this.

Like others, after an extensive search and research, I zeroed down to Verna. I took a city test drive of 3.5 hrs before finally giving the booking advance. Are you crazy? 3.5 hrs in city drive. Well yes, I wanted to see its ease of driving and hence took it through the most congested roads, heavy traffic roads etc finally to the dealer yard to see the colour 2M(Midnight Grey) in sunlight. Finally, the car to me on Sept 2007 and since then I have driven around 31k kms, 90% of them long drive to Kerala.

I liked -

The raw power of 102ps with which it whizzes past vehicles, the stability, the road grip, no body roll at corner - now what else you can expect from a sedan. It had all the features of a top end vehicle. I added the 2 DIN system at a discounted rate

Disliked - Front looks could have been better but now used to it. The new one is extremely good looking one

March 2010 - A history was made for Verna when the verna got converted to LPG using BRC sequential kit(kidding, many of then had converted the day it was taken out from showroom).Due to soaring price of petrol, I opted to convert the car to LPG. I had used LPG in my old santro and hence I didnt had to do and research into it or think twice. There is absolutely no difference in driving in LPG as compared to Petrol. yes you heard me right no driving difference in LPG.provided you are using sequential kit.I have spent 45k all incl and its worth the money.I test drove 30 kms to get the reading, tuning etc and I had to see the indicator to understand whether I am driving in petrol or LPG.The advantage of using sequential technology is that there is least amount of modifications made. The major one is done in the inlet manifold to fit the lpg injectors otherwise no other modifications.

The switchover switch is fitted in the place for cigratte lighter hence it aligns with interiors well as if fitted from factory

The tank is 60 lts on which 80% max can be filled. It is fitted in the trunk and yes be ready to sacrifice 1/4th of the space.I have uploaded some pics of the gas fitment

Advantage of using sequential kit -

-Least modifications,

-Highly safe and reliable

-switches to petrol mode with a buzzer without any kind of jerks

-no misfire/backfire at all

-over fill indication. the led lights blinks. For this open the filler cap and release some lpg from the tank

A word of caution -

-should do the fitting with an experienced professional

-if we try to reduce the fitment cost, the mechanic will use second grade materials which will impact down the line and will have to shell out more to rectify it

-Endorse the conversion so as to make it legal or you will not get the insurance coverage

Let me know if you need more details and happy to help!
